As it is Mental Health Awareness Day, I thought I would post some pictures I saved on my personal pinterest account which helped me understand and get through my anxiety. I have a folder with 100s of pictures starting with what anxiety feels like, which then seemed to flow into ways of dealing with mental health then most recently positive quotes and meditation tips. It’s like I can now look back and see my outlook growing more positive with each pin. I haven’t felt the need to pin any for a couple of years now but it did seem to help.

It’s great that more and more people are talking about mental health now, breaking the stigma and spreading awareness.
For me and many others CBT (cognitive behaviour therapy)- helped retrain the brain to think in a different way. Turning everyday situations into manageable tasks and not approaching things with a negative mind set. Exercise was a great tool for me, I started running not overly far or fast but getting outside and releasing endorphins.
Mindfulness activities including meditation, drawing etc are great way to control your negative thoughts and just focus on something fun.
I can now control any negative emotions quickly and think clearly without letting stress or anxiety ruin my day.
This isn’t my usual type of post but if 1 person found it helpful in any way then it was worth it.
If you think you are suffering with mental illness, please tell someone and seek help. You can get through it. It may be a hard journey but it will be so worth it to be at peace with yourself.
